TIGERS ARE FUN TO TEACH !

This is a separate course that was designed because the average 7 & 8-year old is still not quite ready for the traditional junior martial arts program; even withprevious experience in the Dragon prep course program. Although children this age have the drive and motivation to keep up with a 12 year-old, their motivation drops the minute they feel like they are falling behind. For this reason, the average 7 & 8 year old will progress smarter and faster if they areseparated into their own program that meet their specific physical, emotional, social, and intellectual characteristics.

1. They think things out. They are motivated. True they need encouragement with their concentration, but that’s what we do.

2. They succeed when given small portions of information to memorize.  They would rather do it then memorize it.

3. They are active and exciting and we concentrate on their skills and drills and make it fun.  We change the format of the class frequently to disguise the repetition that develops their physical skills.

4. Voted “most motivated” they thrive on the social support of their peers.

5. Self confidence and self esteem is a big part of the success of this age group.  They like to learn from their peers.

6. Although they are motivated and act like sponges, their fine motor skills need practice until they are ready for the more complex physical challenges.

7. We concentrate on their speed, proper technique, stretching and agility.

8. We foster parent participation on a voluntary basis.  When your child finishes a class…a high five from a parent is priceless.

     STUDENT CREED

1. I intend to develop myself in a positive manner and avoid anything that would reduce my mental growth or my physical health.

2. I intend to develop self-discipline in order to bring out the best in myself and others.

3. I intend to use what I learn in class constructively and defensively: To help myself and my fellow man and never to be abusive or offensive.
