ESK GOALS FOR OUR LITTLE DRAGONS

1. Help them gain control of their major muscles with exercises and drills that help build balance, coordination and control.

2. Plenty of repetition that is fun and increases eye-hand coordination and right and left hand capability.

3. Encourage physical and verbal performance.

4. Use their excitement with the martial arts to teach sharing, following and leading.

5. Competition is avoided at this stage. We teach them to compete against themselves.

6. Make sure that each child gets attention and understands the rules.

7. Help them understand small responsibly by replacing the equipment used in class.

8. PCP is always used in class.  Praise, Correct, Praise.  And always to use truthful and specific praise.

9. Teach with their needs in mind.  At 4 & 5 years they need the instructors approval not criticism.

10. Pride in their accomplishments is encouraged and highlighted.

11. Plenty of time is given for their “many” questions.  They are at that age.

12. Karate games using their imagination is done in every class.

13. Their attention span is about 30 minutes and class should not go past that time.

14. We encourage the parents to praise them with one positive comment when class is over.

See you in the next class!
