Japanese Sword

Learn the basics of Japanese Sword techniques with Sensei Art McConnell, a 5th Don licensed instructor and competitor, who studied under Professor Otani at NY Iai Kai. This dynamic class is for teens and adults of all levels. You will learn blocking, drills and forms while experiencing the beauty and invigorating aspects of this martial art.
Beautifully crafted to resemble a real samurai sword, the included red oak sword (or bokken) is great for practicing techniques without the dangers of using a “sharp” sword . The bokken is an inexpensive and relatively safe substitute for a real sword in several martial arts such as kendo, aikido and kenjutsu. The bokken does not demand the care, attention and skill of a live sword, and is safer for the user and other practitioners.

Tot Music by Music Together®

This innovative music program was developed by the Center for Music in Young Children® specifically for infant through pre-school age children. In our 45-minute class, we provide opportunities for children to experiment with music through song, movement, chants and instrument play with the emphasis on the process (and fun!!) of creating music rather than on performance. In addition, we provide some very special bonding time! Each of the song collections used in class includes a wide variety of musical styles, tonalities and rhythms to provide a rich environment for children and their care-givers to grow musically.
